WORDS WHO SPEAK

WORDS WHO SPEAK
1985?

If a word could express what the body can feel
Then a million lifetimes my words would reveal
The years I spend bursting, swelling, tensing
The years in the moments
The moments is seconds
Feel you life expanding
Yet the words are condensing

Smile at passing vengeance
Death and its contingence
Death but a resemblance
Of what could be

Grin again within your sin
Kiss your vengeance if you can
Burrows deep beneath the skin
The guilt was born when God began

If a word could speak for itself
Would the dictionary take the shelf?
Would thought be free, plane-less?
As universal as space
Would smiles be needed with the glance?
Would we need music just to dance?
Would love songs a vaunt from earth’s view?
Would death be feared?
Well….do you?
